I was standing outside my front door today, when the mailman arrived. I said "Hi, do you have any mail for me today?" But he just walked right past me, he didn't look at me or answer. So then I checked to see if he was wearing headphones, but he wasn't. The guy was white, fat, about six foot tall, with a blue hat. (My zip code is 94519) Anyway, he put mail into the mailbox, and turned around to walk past me again. I said "Hi, can you hear me?" Again, there was no response. So either the guy was deaf, or he was a complete jerk. I suspect he was just a jerk. People should know that the Post Office is the biggest waste of money imaginable. Those shiftless employees get paid more than they're worth to do a job which is not the responsibility of the government. We don't need a bunch of freeloaders, who can't get fired, delivering our mail. A private company would do it much cheaper and faster. This putz is what you get when people have perfect job security. They don't have to be nice. And that's the philosophy of sixty million government employees who can't get fired. So there are two key points: 1. Mail delivery is not an essential government service. 2. There is no reason to withhold personal information. When people report a government problem, they should be given the name of the person involved. Government employees are not granted anonymity. And just so people know: The Post Office controls Fed Ex and UPS through shell companies. The Post Office is nothing but a bunch of dirty union scoundrels who steal money, destroy competition, and hide behind a wall of secrecy. Those Post Office pensions are not valid, they were never voted on, and the taxpayers never approved them. I would close the Post Office, and let private companies bid on the mail routes. And I would tell Washington D.C. and the putz that I met today to go jump off a cliff.
