I have for hours been attempting to get through on the phone to my local post office (Durango, CO) to request repair on the lock to my mailbox, in our community mail room. On the recommendation of my local mail carrier, I first tried calling this morning at 0700. I have since, during what are posted as regular business hours, place several other calls ... each letting it ring for 10-15 minutes until the line goes dead. Please advise how one is to reach the local post office without fruitlessly expending hours and hours on the phone, or other way to report the need for lock repair.
I just called to speak with the postmaster about items mailed to my son in Durango that have never arrived. I apparently called after hours (although there aren't any posted at this site) and a very rude woman answered without identifying herself. When I stated that I was trying to reach the post office, she stated, "They're closed." She hung up without offering any other information. Not service oriented.
Horrible service. Slow, understaffed and I am told the Postmaster is a really nasty rude person and that is why they cannot find more employees. There is one teller in particular to avoid. Didn't catch her name, but she is a heavy set Native American gal who usually works in the 2nd or 3rd stall. Very rude, nasty, hates her job and will tell you cannot ship items that other tellers will let you ship.
