Postal Locations

I thought Priority Mail do not stay in transit more than 24 hours, and my priority mail has been stuck here for four days. That is a really important mail. I hope they will send it on time

The Georgia Tech Supply Chain Logistics Institute has posted pertinent observations about the realities of USPS handling shipments of local, interstate, and international mail at and between its facilities. A key observation is that USPS facilities & personnel are limited and on a fixed schedule while the influx of mail comes in waves. It's 'feast & famine'. The phenomenon is observable in many retail branches where at 3 pm there may not be any vehicles in the parking lot; and yet, at 4 pm there may lines of customers out the door and down the sidewalk; and each one asking for personalized attention. Couple that with USPS mantra of 'today's mail today' meaning that it does not follow LIFO, nor FIFO; if a glut of incoming mail fills the semi-trailer scheduled for the next facility then the 'excess' bin is rolled aside for the next trailer which may be scheduled for the next day. Repeat that issue several days in a row and it's obvious that none of the tracking on any of the packages in the 'excess' bin will be updated to show movement to the next facility. It's "today's mail today"; yesterday's mail is already late and now it's just 'later'. Another element is that if flights are cancelled in one postal zone then the First Class & Priority mail may be re-routed by truck - and the slower Media Rate and Parcel mail bins may be rolled to the side to wait for the 'next available space'. My customers parcel was in New York local to his destination on 6th February... now today my parcel is showing being in Atlanta. He has waited over a month for his parcel and now it is miles and miles away from his delivery destination???? What is going on?

I HAVE SENT MY PACKAGE IN EXPRESS MAIL GAURANTEED BY 1 DAY AND I SPENT 30$ FOR JUST ONE DOCUMENT AND ITS SUPPOSED TO REACH ON TIME. IT VERY IMPORTANT DOCUMENT FOR ME. MY LIFE IS ON THAT PAPER. SERIOULY THEY DONT CARE ABOUT ANY IMPORTANCE OF OUR MAIL.

EXPRESS MAIL 2 DAYS, DELIVERY 1/21/2023 - STILL SITTING IN ATLANTA AND IT IS NOW 1/25/2023. WE NEED TO BE ABLE TO SUE THESE IDIOTS! VERY VERY IMPORTANT PACKAGE TO ME! AND TALKING TO THEM IS ANOTHER JOKE!

My mom sent me a package on 9/28/22. It arrived at Atlanta-Peachtree distribution center on 9/29/22 and has not left it since. Today is 10/17/22. The package was shipped via priority mail and was promised to be at its destination on 10/1/22. Every single day there is an update that there is a delivery exception and i was told that my address was invalid. I have my car registered at DMV on this address. I receive mail from other towns all over the world. This is the worst post office i’ve had to deal with. It is frustrating to know that people do not care to such a degree! I am still hopeful that the issue will get resolved. And i really hope that noone is sending their medications through this distribution center!

I can't believe that it takes less time for a package to arrive the United States than it does for a package to arrive from China. The Atlanta facilities are the worst facilities I have ever had to deal with it took less time for my package to arrive from China than it does from Atlanta Georgia to Augusta.

I expedited my passport and passport card from eves Road post office - it made it here to the Peachtree Distribution center and then magically disappeared on 5/7/22. I had to cancel anniversary plans. Don’t use the USPS as there are apparently no controls to protect your private documents. My passport, card and my bank routing numbers from my check are out there for some employee to enjoy. I’m deeply concerned. I placed a search 2 mos ago and finally filed a claim with the postal inspector, Someone has to stop the theft from the postal service. No service, no help, not trustworthy. I saw another review where a passport was stolen from this distribution center. Can someone help?!

My package was sent 6 weeks ago. Arrived at the ATLANTA-PEACHTREE GA DISTRIBUTION CENTER and still in transit. Phone number doesn't work. I guess I'm getting a refund and sending via UPS.

I am a business owner, and I had sent a large box Priority 2-day postage from Texas to a customer in Mabelton, GA on 15 Dec, 2021. It left Texas within one day and arrived at ATLANTA-PEACHTREE GA DISTRIBUTION CENTER on 19 Dec, 2021. Ok, I see it being delayed a few days, but I didn't get an update notice until 22 Dec that it was "In transit, arriving late." That was three days later. Now, here it is 12 January, 2022 and there is still no update on the package whereabouts. I filed a service ticket on 28 Dec, 2021, but it appears no real action is being done to locate and deliver this package to my customer. No one picks up the phone. Very poor service from this distribution center.

Expected delivery for the 23rd. Its been 3 days at the same ATL location getting scanned between the same clowns there and pretty sure won’t be here until next week now. Guess I’ll just die without my meds. No one answers and when they do no actual help because they don’t know whats going on (their own words). Thank you USPS!

My package always gets stuck here it never fails. This is starting to become a real problem. I order from the same person every 2 weeks I expect my package to arrive in 2 days. My package was scheduled to be delivered today and it hasn’t moved from this location since the 1st. By now it should have at least moved to the next location. I’m tired of usps.

I did package intercept today too make sure the correct address and zip code was changed The address is correct but the zip code was wrong I sent the correct zip is29483 . That’s why it kept going to Olar SC that incorrect zip was for there .I’m in Summerville S C 29483

I shipped my package through priority mail and it says failed attempted delivery! To a prime location!! This service is horrible!

You cannot get anywhere with the PO right now! There is no reason why a package that needs to go to KY from AL ( a 5 hr drive) should have to go to Memphis, TN then to Atlanta, GA and then sit in that office for days not knowing what it needs to do. All the other packages delivered on Jan 5 arrived to ND and to VA but the one that needed to go the shortest distance still has not made it! This is not called for!! Guess it is time to use UPS or FedEx instead.

A package was at this USPS location on 1/9/21 and has not arrived at my door yet and it is now 1/15/21. Nothing has been updated in the tracking system to know if it is in route to my residence up North. Mail only take 2 to 3 days to get to my house from Georgia. What is going on with USPS services and extremely late delayed deliveries.

My package was mailed on Dec 9th. It arrived in Atlanta on the 16th of Dec. Here it is January 13th and it is still at the Atlanta facility. WTF!!! I sent two packages after the first one and they did not go through Atlanta and arrived in five business days. HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN SITTING IN THERE FOR A MONTH!!!! I want my damn package. I trusted USPS. NO MORE!!! Going to UPS from now on.

Mailed my package on December 15th. It arrived at this facility on December 20th. It is January 12th and my package is still at this facility. Bad, bad, bad customer service. We should get a refund for the slow service. I spent over $25 to mail this package for Christmas only for it to sit. (I hope it is not lost!)

I had a package sent from MA. on Dec. 21, 2020 supposed to go to Maine. Somehow it ended up here. Maybe it wanted to sight see for awhile. FINALLY arrived in Maine on Jan. 3. 2021. The person I sent it to said it arrived REALLY banged up!!! WTF?! The picture she sent me was AWFUL!! I am still pissed!! Shame on you!!

Your facility is a major failure and all employee's should be fired and replaced with competent employees. Your facility gets negative feedback all the time, you never answer your phones. Trying to figure out how MULTIPLE packages have left the store I purchased them from in Newnan, GEORGIA and went all the way to Queens, NY and Indianapolis, IN before finally getting to me in Gainesville, GEORGIA!!! Is Carmen Sandiego working for this distribution center?! They travel the country before showing up at my house, thankfully showing up. I could drive to Newnan and pick them up the SAME DAY.

My package been sitting there for a damn month unacceptable

This is unacceptable. I have a package that has been sitting there for days and at one point tracking said it had been delivered to its destination in CA. It had not, and the next day that tracking information disappeared. Apparently tracking info can be changed or deleted. I wonder if anyone else has experienced the changing of tracking info.

I had a package that I ordered on November 27th sit there since December 16th and it was a Christmas present. Why in the world would a package need to sit at a facility near my house that long. I can't get to the facility but you all should start calling people who have aged packages there and provide them the option to pick them up. For goodness sake you are 25 minutes from me. My daughter could have had her present on-time.

Same problem here. I've had a package sitting at this distribution center for over five days. I got one notification that it was to be delivered to my post office yesterday and then a notification that it's still in Georgia at this distribution center today. Time to start using UPS!

I had a package( Christmas Present) arrive there on December 10. It is now December 21 and my package according to the tracking has been lost!!!! I am furious ! I understand places being understaffed do to sickness but this is completely incompetent. There is no reason for a package to arrive at a facility then disappear.

My package actually got sent to my local post office and got sent back to Atlanta. Can’t blame that on the virus!

Same here....my package shows it got there over a week ago and no movement since. Package will be late. There is no reason a package should be sitting at a USPS distribution center that long. USPS is a federal organization. Someone should be better monitoring this center.

Ordered on November 30th, package was scanned on December 1st saying arrived at the Peachtree facility, expected delivery was December 4th, today is December 18th and still nothing, the last update on my package was December 5th saying arriving late, in transit . Considering it lost I ordered again on the 10th, was suppose to be delivered on the 16th, once again nothing beyond the Peachtree facility. All together I have 4 packages ordered since November 29th from different companies that have ended up at this facility and never updated again. Tracking numbers are useless and customer service is non existent.

Package has been at the Atlanta-Peachtree Distribution Center since December 10. Tracking says In-Transit which actually means it should still be moving through the postal system. This obviously isn't! This is ridiculous and this location needs investigated because from what I've read, mail gets lost here all the time. I'm now out money for a package, that was a Christmas gift, that I haven't received. Tracking number is 92055901755477000284177175. Somebody needs to investigate all of these missing packages. I understand that there's alot of challenges right now for everybody, however, when we have paid orders that were ordered weeks ago and still no package, something needs to be done.

Been waiting since December 5th 2020 for this USPS to ship an order to Baltimore Md 21222. I originally placed the order on November 27 2020. WHAT'S THE HOLD UP ? ??? I WILL BE GETTING CHARGED FOR AN ORDER I have never received ! The order has been in GA. Since DECEMBER, 5 2020. TODAY IS DECEMBER 17, 2020.

This is the worst ! i have 3 packages all shipped at different times and none are delevering any where close to on time - I shipped my daughter in law a birthday package on Dec 7th --paid for priority shipping --packaging shipping from Athens Ga to Clarksville TN -- i shipped the package Dec 7th from Athens-- Peachtreee Postal Center scanned the package on Dec 7th - and its still there on Dec 16th !!!!!! And to make it worse, i have called every number given and NO ONE can help --and i have made at least 25 calls -- Also have the same issue with package shipped from TN to my son in Germany (Army base) -- package shipped Nov 14th and it was scanned out of Chicago and now no one can help me find the package- Corona or no Corona I will not use USPS any longer --there is absolutely NO Customer Service at all !!!!!!!!!

I'm going on day 15 for a Priorty Mail Package that was shipped December 1st from Detroit. It was expected to be at my house December 7th, December 11th it was scanned in at the Atlanta Distribution center, December 15th it's at the Peach Tree Distribution Center saying in Transit? I hope to have my package by the end of this week, which will be December 18th. Terrible scanning, no idea where you stuff is?

My package has been sitting idle in Peachtree for 5 days now. Don't know if it is lost, stolen, missed placed, etc. Confused and sad.

I would like to know why my packages are in the post office in peachtree Atlanta GA. And not being delivered to me they have a package scence Nov 3rd and not moved yet along with other 2 on Nov 16 and they have not been moved has somebody miss placed them or stole them.I am beyond pissed they are for my customers.

The absolute worst distribution center ever. Many of my packages have been lost here. I cringe every time I see this pop up on my tracking info. My most recent package has been sitting there for 5 days. There was a departure scan at 2 am and another at 10pm on the 5th day and still no updates. My perishables are probably spoiled by now. I wish they’d shit this place down or clean house and hire people who actually want to do the work.
