how is this a review of the post office when postal employees do not read these? how is anything suppose to be fixed or revised to make the facility better....

Hi I´m waiting for my package for long time TCK 9212490327616030465307 so, a few days ago appeared as delivered to me. not truth, then I went to the post office here in MN to ask about it and nothing there, at the next day I tracked the number again and was returned because You can´t contact me. I have a total of 4 packages that have been held up at this facility for days now. They were supposed to be delivered today! There is absolutely no reason for this hold up. Plus there is no tracking update and usps can't assist me cause they have no idea where my packages are!

Mailed my package on Monday at Carol Stream, IL. It went through the Elk Grove Distribution Center overnight, left and on its way on Tuesday. Today, Wednesday, it is out for delivery in Massachusetts. Good job!

Why is the mail box taped up in the morning. I drop off mail on my way to work about 4:30am and now the box is all taped closed in the morning. Do you think you could make it anymore inconvenient for residents. This is just not acceptable

My package shipped out from an APO in Germany. It arrived in Chicago a few days later and then to Kansas City. It floated around several Kansas City facilities for 8-9 days and then was shipped back to Chicago and then to Germany. It has now been shipped back to Chigaco to a different facility (Elk Grove) where no one will answer the phone. No luck in trying the automated phone, none of the prompts work correctly. Let's hope it actually comes back to Kansas City and I get my Christmas presents.

I have an Amazon order for a Nintendo Switch game called Danganronpa Decadence. It arrived at Elk Grove Village's distribution center and as far as I can tell, it's still there for some reason. It's been there for nine days. Nine days! It should have been in Galesburg by now. What is taking so long? Get my game delivered already. It's a Christmas present, for Pete's sake.

I have lived at the same address Since March 2020. AT & T called me last week and left a Voice Mail Message stating that my brill was returned as undeliverable and I needed to confirm my current address. I went to get Gas at BP Amoco and my card was declined. I'm on Auto pay with them. When I called them, they confirmed they received my payment, but my bill had been returned to them as undeliverable by the Post Office. So they froze my account. After I called and confirmed my address they restored my account. What is going on over there? This is unacceptable. What you are doing is affecting people's lives. Do you care????

When I order from a Red State, my order arrives on time. Orders from Blue States are pretty much a crap shoot. Elk Grove came up Boxcars. I wish you DimocRats would do your jobs.

Sad to hear that your military son is sending gifts from Japan. The package arrived in the United States and the package disappeared from his post office. Waiting for the arrival of the package, everyone mentioned that shipments were being delayed by COVID. I will not have a package and you cannot even charge insurance. I mailed a mantel clock from Westmont Illinois to philadelphia PA on 02-07-2021. According to tracking, it sat at this facility till 03-03-2021. It sat for a month. I called down there 5 times to see if there was some sort of problem. No one picks up the phone. You leave your name, number, and a brief message and no one calls you back. I had to open a search to finally get things moving. In the meantime, I had to deal with an upset customer.

Package sent 2/25/2021 to Philadelphia PA from Chicago suburbs by Priority Mail 2-day delivery. March 5 still not delivered to Philadelphia. Why would Chicago mail go from Elk Grove Village IL to OPA Locka FL to sit for 4-days before sending off to PA? Customers are paying for prompt delivery and not receiving what they pay for.

To echo a previous comment below, I sent a Priority Mail box from Voorhees, NJ, a Philadelphia suburb, to Staten Island, NY, on December 28th, due to arrive in Staten Island on 12/31. Can someone explain why this package would go to Elk Grove, IL, when it only had to travel 75 miles from NJ to Staten Island? I guess I'm lucky in that my package did depart Elk Grove on January 1st, but it's still "in transit to the destination." Lets see how long it takes to now travel back 819 miles to the east coast!

From all the emails I see below , all I can ask is there another alive at you facility, surely you need to put a fire under your employees to get these packages out, my package is still sitting at your facility too.

Seems I am not the only one with issues. I sent three packages out on the 16th of December, and 3 more on the 17th of December. All 6 packages went through this center. The three shipped on the 17th were completely delivered by noon yesterday, one of the ones shipped on the 16th was finally delivered today, and the other two are still sitting there... I paid extra to make sure they were there by Christmas. and according to the sign at my local post office, I shipped them well within the window for this to happen. I'm beyond livid.

My grandchildren will have nothing to open under the tree, if someone would just pick up I would come pick up my gifts, I have people in other states willing to meet me to get these packages to my grandchildren, for God's sake pick up the phone or tell me where my packages are....

Reading all of the reviews on here is just heartbreaking, I now realize that the gift ordered for my daughter to give to her father for Christmas has no chance of making it to me here in Maryland on time. Our package has been sitting in that place since December 7th and has not moved. My daughter is so disappointed she won't have her present to give him. He is a Marine Vet and all she wanted was to give her dad the present a hero deserved and because of this incompetent post office not only is our Christmas ruined but I can see it is affecting a lot of people. I am reading these and now I realize this is a massive problem with this post office. I ordered a coat from Lands End on November 1, 2020 and the coat per tracking has been sitting in this center since November 5, 2020. I filled out a lost report on the USPS website and they were suppose to contact me once the issue was resolved, I've not heard a word! I had to contact the Bulk Mail office in Chicago in order to get the right phone number for the actual office in Elk Grove Village, this number is apparently outdated and the Post Master quit at the last minute. I too have had many hiccups with this location, on face value though. Today I spoke to a very pleasant, helpful, sincere employee, Kelly. In regards to packages, Elk Grove is not a distribution center. All packages are turned around and sent to the district distribution center. She admitted even she cannot get answers as they are overwhelmed since the ballot mailings, on top of Covid causing a huge reduction in their personnel. I'm extremely.pissed off that my $85 in merchandise can't be located, believe me. But I also am empathetic to the issues being faced by these (mostly) fabulous very essential Americans. It's Nov. 18, 2020, and no activities. Please get your act straight. You're in possessions of a passport and evidence documents that I need for emergency travel. Why is a package coming from PR with NJ as destination, has to go to San Juan, then Chicago, then ILL, then NJ, and then destination? Is this done on purpose? Where is the logic? The consumer always loses... what a shame!

It appears that nothing will ever be done about the Elk Grove Village, Illinois Distribution center. I have had about 40 packages in the past 7 months stall going through this location. I have to file a missing package report to ever get it moving again. I have complained at the USPS 800 number and consumer affairs numbers and they really do not care. Nothing gets done. No wonder they say they are going bankrupt. My business relies on mailing packages. This is not acceptable when some that are taking weeks cost 40.00 to 100.00 to ship. This is what I am paying for? Really? Well I have just found out about UPS Sure post when most of the way UPS takes it but it is more affordable because USPS gets it in the end to deliver. Which is not bad because then my packages would bypass this lousy facility where EVERYONE should be fired and people that can DO a job should be hired. Not sure why the 800 number or consumer affairs can't do something about this place but I just sent a complaint to the Inspector General. I am sure that will go nowhere as well though......

I have had so many problems with packages missing from here. I emailed the old Postmaster General so many times she blocked me. New Postmaster doesn't even list an email. The new thing the Post Office does once you inquire about a package. They send you an email. Good news your problem is resolved. AND the package is still missing!!! So there just closing cases acting like they fixed them. Voting by USPS will be a joke. We should call Ben Bradley from WGN & investigate. I have a file of missing packages.

This location is notorious for being the worst distribution center in the nation! I wish there were a way to circumvent mail from being handled through there! I sent a package to a buyer in the UK at the end of June...The package has been with this location for nearly 2 months now and I'm getting highly annoyed this is my SECOND problem I've had with this location for UK bound packages. I wish etsy didn't force us to use the global sort location but this is not accpetable. I used the USPS 'normal' labels and sent 2 packages to Aus/UK/Canada and those buyers GOT those within 4 weeks! What is the problem with the 'global inter partners'? Please cease your contract with Etsy or pull your heads out from your rear ends and DO.YOUR.JOBS.

Yet another package is stuck at Elk Grove village for over a week now. It says it's departing the facility and the time stamp keeps updating, but it never moves. It seems to be a common theme at this distribution center which means they need some new management at this facility or firing what could be employed thieves stealing packages. Package arrived at ELK GROVE VILLAGE IL DISTRIBUTION CENTER on Jul 7. Still there as of July 22. The postal service is in serious trouble. Like our Harrisburg facility it appears it it employing many incompetent people with poor work ethics!!

Mailed my package PRIORITY MAIL from Loves Park, Illinois on July 06, 2020. Package was addressed to Scottsdale, Arizona. Then, fifteen days later on July 21, 2020 the Post Office tracking system shows that the package is still in Elk Grove, Illinois. For heavens sakes, Elk Grove Village Post Office is only an hour drive from where I mailed the package and it took the POST OFFICE fifteen days to travel 60 miles. Those employees are paid a great deal of money I think they should be doing a better job at moving the mail..

I shipped a flat rate padded envelope from California to Birch Run, Michigan on July 1. It arrived at Elk Grove Village Distribution Center July 6. The last tracking says July 10, which is 6 days ago "Your package moving within USPS Network..." I opened a case on July 15. On July 16 a lady at Birch Run post office called and said the package is not lost but stuck at Elk Grove. There was nothing that could be done except wait. Even with Covid19 this is really not acceptable.

I had a package mailed to me from Toronto on June 9. I live in Phoenix. Well, I see all I'm doing is adding another bad review for Elk Grove P.O. Sent 2 boxes out of Gurnee to head to Peoria, AZ on 6/11/20. I paid $136 to have them there ahead of my grandson's birthday, realizing it may take an extra day due to COVID and reduced work force. His birthday has come and gone, and the only tracking info puts Elk Grove squarely as the sticking point. I asked for a call. Peoria, AZ P.O. called me, and even THEY know Elk Grove is notorious for this. My packages are in limbo and I paid a premium. FedEx is my go-to from now on, and I will be looking for a reduction on my shipping costs from the P.O. - that is, if they ever arrive.

It is a cake and cupcakes I had made for my sons birthday, that is pretty much probably going to be trash cuz it’s heading on 8 days with no new scans for days since it got to Elk Grove. I received my stimulus check today, thanks to my neighbor. Another resident of the Village named Emilie (or Emily) Miller got my check, even though MY address was CLEARLY printed under my name on the check that showed through the window envelope. That resident was trying to reach me, even though I wasn't home at the time, and my neighbor saw her and asked if he could help her. I was upset to think that the post office "sorter" didn't bother to read the address under MY name. I was very grateful for the resident's diligence and for my neighbor's help and very aggravated with the post office.

Ordered something from Ebay and it said it's been there for a few days now. Now it says it's going to be late. I wasn't worried until I actually decided to look up this place and found that a lot of people apparently get their packages stuck here. You'll be hearing from me if I don't get it though.

Our mail is delivered most days, sometimes we go 2 or 3 days with no mail delivery. At least once a week, we get mail that is supposed to go to other addresses, sometimes our next door neighbor, sometimes from a different street. Our neighbors have the same problem - mail delivered to the wrong address. When I call the post office to let them know about this, they say it was a substitute delivering mail that week. But it happens every week!

44 days from Chicago to Elk Grove Village to Austin Texas. Arrived Chicago then transit (4) days to Elk Grove Village then 40 damn days to get to Austin Tx. I could have walked that far in 40 days. Called 9 times and spoke to a postal inspector over it. Nothing we can do... Guess that is why I use UPS now.

It took them 12 days, TWELVE DAYS for the two packages to get from Chicago 30 miles away to the shit hole that is Elk Grove village P.O. now they are back in route to Chicago?!?!?. So over the time period of two freaking weeks, my packages have made it roughly 30 miles or less with no hope they will make it to me in Texas anytime soon!! What is going on at this post office, I have never seen anything like this in my life (besides previous packages that went through the same scenario and took two months to receive)!!!! How can one post office cause such grief for so many people!! Why can’t they get their crap together?! The absolute worst place a package can ever land in this entire universe is at the Elk Grove Village post office!!! I truly cannot comprehend why they have not been shut down yet or had the entire incompetent staff replaced!!

I sent my son his original birth certificate via priority mail with insurance. He has just completed A school in Waukegan and is being shipped overseas. It should have arrived on Friday in Great Lakes, today is Wednesday. Got a notification that it was delayed and arrived in Palatine IL yesterday and then further south to Elk Grove Distribution Center. I am freaking out and my son is too. This is absolutely the worst postal office in Illinois and possibly in the country/ Please get your act together!

My package has been sitting in Elk Grove Village for eight days now. Every day I get the same generic email about a "processing exception" with no explanation or estimated due date. This is the worst service I've ever seen, I've always supported the USPS but this makes me change my mind.

Guess I'm a part of the club! My package has been "at" the Elk Grove location for over 7 business days now. My advice to anyone that notices their tracking not being updated after going to this facility is to call 312-983-8403 and patiently hold until you get a representative. Ask for them to open a claim and get the claim number. Then, when you check again and there still isn't an update (likely the next day or so), call back with your claim number and ask for a Supervisor. The Supervisor I got ahold of was named Angie, and after speaking to her - my "lost" package finally departed the facility the following day. Never using USPS again - what is the point of tracking something, but then not being able to find out where it is? That place is like the Bermuda Triangle.

I have a store online. I never had trouble until items were sent through Elk Grove. I have a very upset customer once again. Everything is ALWAYS in 'transit' with them. I may stop using USPS and close my account. I send out to many items a day for this to be happening. The people in charge need to be replaced. Then you get a delay message, but not with a date or anything to ease your customers mind.

I stay in 925 Jefferson Sq and the mail man often leaves the package outside the mail box. Please note that it gets difficult to track the package if the shipper says its delivered and I don't get it. Please ask the mail man to deliver the package to the leasing office in case it does not fit in the mail box.

I work at a business is EGV and the mail service is terrible. Certified mail, he doesnt even come to the door just put the yellow "sorry we missed you" slip in the box. There are days that my mail doesnt get picked up. I am going one 8 days with no mail and no pick up. AND when you call the post office it just rings and rings and rings or you get the busy signal. This is a business and we depend on the mail to be picked up in a timely manor so that our client can receive their invoices on time.

This post office is the WORST in the whole country, today the pudgy postman ignorantly did not pick up the outgoing mail which was waiting for him at the front desk, and he couldn't have missed it, he placed the incoming mail right beside it. Ignorant lazy overpaid individual.

I have never written a review in my life, until now. The Elk Grove Postal service has to be the worst in the US. It takes a week for our employees to receive their paychecks, this is only to Chicago and surrounding areas. I regularly, at least once a week, get other businesses mail and several times they have returned things to me as undeliverable when the address is one I have been mailing to for years. We have had businesses in the surrounding areas mail things to us and have waited over a week to receive them, what is going on in EG.

Unbelievable! This is the 3rd time I've had a package, which was sorted here, delivered to the EAST COAST! The first one was a package of Christmas toys sent to my grandchildren on the WEST COAST, which went to the EAST COAST, but managed to get to the WEST COAST in time for Christmas!! worse post office ever!!!!!!! the whole us postal service sucks! they give me the run around on my package and different numbers to call but not surprised when i call and no one ever answers. These are the reasons why the us post office are doing bad in business and it should close down!

my package has been sitting there since 9/2 10:09 pm no one answers the calls over 250 made I sent a package overnight to my son in Mequon Wisconsin and its still sitting according to the tracking in Elk Grove Village. I have never felt so violated that someone has stole or lost my package to a poor college kid!!!!!!

My wife mailed a 2-day priority card last Saturday. The envelope is the perfect size to mail cards such as birthday cards and gift cards. She put a $50 gift card in it and mailed it to her sister in Washington. When her sister never received it, we tracked it and found that it never left the Elk Grove Village post office. Someone there probably felt the envelope and could feel the gift card, so they stole it. My wife who has had 3 major strokes and is disabled is crying because she bought that birthday card and was saving it for 2 years to give to her sister for her birthday this year. People in the Elk Grove Village post office are not honest.

I have had three priority mail packages misrouted in three months. 5+ days for delivery when it s/b 2-3. In an absolute crisis right now due to a package that should have been delivered on 3-12 and is still somewhere in limbo, but needed by this evening. Going around in circles with various people and no one can help. USELESS! NEVER USING THE POST OFFICE AGAIN!!!!!

THE USPS SORT CENTER IN ELK GROVE, IL IS THE ABSOLUTE WORST EVER I HAVE A PACKAGE THAT WAS TO BE DELIVERED ON 2/13 PRIORITY 2 DAY SHIPPING AND IT IS PASS THE DELIVERY DATE AND NON OF THE PEOPLE AT THE USPS CAN GIVE ANSWERS FOR A PACKAGE THAT IS 40 MIN. AWAY FROM THE DELIVERY LOCATION...................

I have not received mail in 3 days due to the severe weather. Do you know when mail delivery will resume? Is it possible to double-up on postal carriers during the day to service our delivery area? Thanks.
