The main clerk at the Evanston postal substation, 1929 Central Street, has continually been impatient or flat-out rude – for years. Her latest: she refused my package on Tuesday, May 21, because she said the USPS doesn't allow any batteries of any kind in mailed products. That's the opposite of the truth. Even lithium batteries can be mailed if they go by ground. I wound up going to the Wilmette post office, where I was treated politely.

Went to mail a priority envelope at Central Street post office and there was a sign on the door that said "back in 15 minutes". I arrived as the worker was returning and she said it would be a few more minutes (as she talked on the phone). I left and came back 5 minutes later and waited another 10 minutes and the post office still wasn't open. This is pathetic. Central Street post office is the epitome of disgruntled and ineffective employees. You might as well close the post office for lunch instead of having employees unilaterally decide to "close" the post office whenever they feel like it.

Stopped in to mail taxes today and tried to use Self Serve. The scale was broken and I saw no other way to let the Post Office know. After waiting ten minutes in a seven person live with no movement, I left.

The delivery service in south Evanston is very irregular. Several days sometimes go by when our building gets no mail. And then the we do get it, it's around 5-6 pm. Also the mailboxes in front of. the Main St Post Office were vandalized 1-2 weeks ago and are not yet fixed. Makes mailing more difficult.

Help!!! On Sunday, 2/20/22, I pulled up to the Evanston Public Library intending to return a DVD, “Halt and Catch Fire’”, and absentmindedly dropped the dvd into the USPS mail box rather than the Evanston Public Library DVD drop box! Please help!!

Until now, I have had no problems with mail delivery to 450 Davis, Evanston, #361. Today, a package, which I was told (by tracking #) had been delivered, never showed up. Is it possible that it was checked off as delivered before the mail person actually entered 450 Davis with the intention to deliver it? Please investigate!

We live on the 700 block of Michigan Ave Evanston. Since Serge our regular mail person retired we dont have a regular person assigned to our block and get the mail very sporadically for example no mail last Friday and Sat 9/11 and 12 -which happened a few time before - no mail for 2-3 days and than a huge amount on the fourth one. We would appreciate getting our mail on a daily basis as we deserve. Please let me know what can be done to remedy this problem,

We’ve had the exact same problem on Custer in Evanston. We assumed they weren’t putting mail in the mailbox because they didn’t have a key to get in the apartment door (We also have lots of random mail carriers in our neighborhood all the time literally for years we’ve never had one single mail carrier.) but we did put up a sign saying to ring the bell when they’re outside so we can let them in and we still went a couple days without mail and this has been happening on and off for at least three months now. I tried to call but all I get is voicemail I really don’t know what to do anymore.

I had a post office box # 5643 on Davis street.. Unfortunately, I have been stuck in Europe with this COVID 19 and was not able to renew the box. I would like to give you my information and you advise how can I get a new box. I can make a payment on my debit card. Thank you for your help and support.

I have been expecting some books important for my work. Your tracking website claims the package was delivered today, when I checked at noon. Not true! The tracking number is 9241990134088000549055. Are people falsely claiming delivery to get a better review, like airlines claiming false departure and arrival times? BTW, cannot reach you by phone. Help-Help! Thanks! 4:16pm

Hello, Today I waited 50 minutes in line to mail a box at the Evanston South location (Main St.). Although there were two employees working, only one was helping customers. This seemed most inappropriate when there were always at least 12 people in line! At one point, the person at the counter walked away and began doing other things. Really?? At this time of the year, when so many more people are mailing packages there is no question that TWO employees should have been waiting on customers. The Evanston P.O. needs to rethink the Main St branch's operation and adjust its attitude about prompt customer service. Thanks for listening, Susan Breen

Received a ripped open envelope addressed to me (above) and the contents were missing. this happened on Tuesday October 2, 2018. I do not know if the post deliverer was our usual one for the 9200 block of Evanston, 60203, but the contents were important medical content for my chronic illness. Can you help?

The young man currently servicing 700 Mulford is friendly, respectful and timely. However last week a substitue was on. Don't know at what point it happened, but a package was returned to sender due to incorrect address. the address was correct. This was the 2nd time this has happened. can you explain what the cause may be. Thank you

I just wanted to make mention of your employee Dee at the Evanston Main street location. She is amazing. She keeps the line moving and still has time to be concerned about the elderly patrons. She works quickly and efficiently even during the holiday season. I observed how she treated two elderly ladies and was in awe of her patience and caring attention. On the rare occasion that I need to go to the post office I always make sure she will be working. I just thought you might like to know. Also I'm sure you already know Randy is the best too!!!!
