SUMMIT, Illinois - I stopped by this location today, January 30, 2023. A very nice gentleman helped me with one mail that I needed postage on and started to ask him if he can provide me information about obtaining a Passport, since I have never applied for one. A lady at the opposite end overheard and started providing information about how to obtain a passport so I walked over to her, to listen for the info and ask questions. When I asked if I could get a form from her, she said she didn’t have any and the ones she had left were reserved for people who already made appointments with them. This, after she told me that once you make an appointment, you have to have all your forms filled out prior to seeing someone at your appointment. Now does that make sense to you? I asked her again, and told her that I was informed the post office had the forms available for customers, that I didn’t have any access to a printer at home, and she told me to go to the library to obtain one. I honestly didn’t believe her based on the conflicting info she provided as providing. Such poor customer service on her part, and I don’t even see any reason why you would withhold a form from a customer knowing that you have them available. I have my doubts and suspicions, but I’m not about to go there.
I mailed 7 letters on mon 2/10/2020 for Valentines Day - ONLY 1 card arrived to its destination and I also never received them back to me - they all had 2 stamps on them !!!!!
Question: Four Christmas cards dropped off at summit office, all going to Springfield IL. Three Christmas cards arrived. Three of the four cards were sent to the same address. One to cousin, two aunt. Three were sent to aunt. Fourth missing card included three packages of stick erasers for a discontinued product she really really likes. I was fortunate enough to find three packs of two sticks each. I happily mailed them to her expecting to surprise her. I didn't. She never got them. Now. The real question? Where did they go? They were marked hand stamp, was someone mad that they weren't supposed to go through the machine? Did someone think there might have been something cool in there? Are there still in the Summit Office somewhere? This wasn't costly, just $20.00 worth of erasers that won't mean a thing to anyone else just to my aunt and me. I know this is not a great time and everyone goes through problems but I'm asking if someone opened this and found, as I said, something that seemed meaningless to them, could you not have sent it on to the recipient as opened but delivered? In spite of this I think there are still plenty of good people out there, I just wish I had those darn erasers back to make a sweet 70 year old lady happy.
