Whoever answers the phone to schedule a new passport at the Bellmore office on Merrick Road is one of the rudest people I've ever spoken with. I was simply calling to make an appointment. When she answered the phone, she said, "Hold" (not hold please...just hold). Then gets back on the phone and talks to me like I'm a 5 year old with the list of things I need to bring. She finishes her summary by saying, "If you do not have your birth certificate with the raised seal, don't bother coming." Her tone was incredibly condescending and rude. I don't think I said more than 2 or 3 words the entire time. I suppose she deals with all kinds of people with passport requests, but if she was working in any customer service type capacity at a private company, she probably would have been terminated.
