This post office has thieves masquerading as postal employees! They just stole a 15 lbs/$1000+ package with a laptop computer, as well as some documents which contained personal information. I sent it to my daughter under "Hold at post office for customer pickup option", thinking that this would be more secure than the package being dropped at her door. Tracking data showed that the package was delivered to the Inwood post office on October 29, however, when my daughter came to pick it up, they lied to her that they don't have it and it is at the Fort George post office a few blocks away. The other post office sent her back, by which time the Inwood office was closed. When she came back 2 days later, they told her that the package has been sent back to the sender at sender's request, which was a lie. I initiated a service request to find my package, three days later the supervisor Jennifer told me that they located the package in the post office, obviously it was hidden in some corner with the label facing the wall. However, when the recipient came to pick it up, they couldn't find it again! The cocamaine story that they came up with was that an employee accidentally stuffed it into someone's mailbox and it was picked up, and they have no way of contacting that person. What a load of BS! This was a rather large box weighting 15 lbs, how do you accidentally stuff it into someone's mailbox without even looking at the label??? What makes more sense is a thief (or thieves) among the employees kept hiding the package in the post office for many days while lying to the recipient, and finally stole it. Shame on you all! I will be filing a complaint with the Inspector General about employee theft? and possibly initiating legal action. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that I'm not the only victim, as theft apeears to have been well orchestrated, this is likrly not the first time they've done this.

I see I am not the only disabled person who is not getting his packages delivered. I spoken with them many times, filed a complaint, and still nothing improves. The postal service is losing money and one would think that it would occur to them that improving their service might make their situation a little better. Do we need to organize and demand a federal intervention?

I am a disabled person. I cannot pick up a package at the post office. I was here yesterday October 16th all day, you claim that y'all delivered the package. I asked for you to redeliver my package on October 17th Im still waiting for my packages. I tried to use the USPS tracking online that doesn't work I tried to call and your telephone number doesn't work. I finally was able to call the main number and talk to a real person but you still don't know where my packages are in the post office. What is going on here it is ridiculous

This is the worst post office in NYC. They are always late with my packages. (Tony always make sure I get my small packages and mail. has the best) When I have a package the truck suppose to deliver its never delivered on time and sometimes not delivered at all. im Cripple and in a wheelchair and it's hard to go to the post office when they don't want to do there job. I REALLY HATE THIS POST OFFICE. PS. ALSO THE LOBBY OF THIS POST OFFICE SUPER SLOW.

I'm having the same problem with the truck delivery personnel as well. It's happened again... the package was to be delivered on January 24, 2018 but I received a notice via email that stated: "Notice Left (No Secure Location Available)NEW YORK, NY 10034January 24, 2018 6:31 pm Out for Delivery". I was home and no one rang my apartment buzzer and there wasn't a physical (paper) notice left in the lobby of my building. I don't believe the package needed a signature. Am I being punished by the truck delivery personnel because I made a complaint? My every day delivery person I believe his name is Tony is wonderful and I've never had any delivery issues with him. Also, on January 7, 2018 a 21 pound package was delivered to the first floor lobby when I had requested it be left in front of my apartment door on the fourth floor...was that punishment as well? Would the usps truck delivery persons treat their elderly or disabled parent this way? HELP!!!

This post office sucks! All this week they delivered all my junk mail to the right address but as soon as my daughter's check comes they deliver me someone else's! I tried to get in contact with the post office but they had me on hold for an hour and told me they were having technical difficulties and to call back!! I need this problem fixed ASAP! And I wish they could see the comments so they know how much of a screw up they are!! If only the original mailman had came today, this matter wouldn't have happened!

We went to this post office to apply for our infant's passport. Arrived at 2:40 and waited in line, then were told to wait at a window where no one came to help us. Then we were told to go to back to the first window only to be refused due to the employee not approving our infant's phot when a previous post office did approve the photo. And then the agent complained to us that she was working beyond her time when it was not yet 3pm and they process passport up to 3pm.It is maddening when the disparate post offices do not have the same hours of poss port operation and are inconsistent in their application of their authority.

HORRIBLE SERVICE! How is Umar still working there? He is the most hostile, rude human being who escalates any situation. They will hold your package hostage! I had to provide birth certificate, marriage license and ID just to be able to pick up a package for my husband! Is this America???
Umar's response was 'Even if he is your "Husband" (with air quotes) you will never receive this package!'
Then he glared at me while smiling for a solid minute.

I just move the neighborhood; was shocked by the lines, but it was during the holiday season...very outdated not to have a station or automated machines to knock out some % of the traffic, but our tax dollars at work. However, after waiting in line, I needed to come back with an id (my fault) and the attendant was kind enough to send me to the supervisor to see if we could bypass my lack of id, but no, ...but the supervisor generously allowed me to skip the line and come to his window when I returned...whew. So its a mixed bag, I'm sure they are also feeling the lack of apparent funding. Now that the 'hood is moving up the food chain, maybe the PO will get a facelift and some new equipment! Hoping so. Can't be easy behind the bullet proof glass! Maybe they'll move and that will become a security liquor store like in the garment district, buying little bottles thru the plexi~

H0RRIBLE....I don't know how many times they leave my pachages in front of my door without knocking to let me know it's there or they leave a pink slip and when you call to ask about package that you already paid for, they tell you that the package was delivered to you, now why the hell would I waste my time on hold for 1/2 hr.asking for my package if it was suppose to have been delivered me....they don't get back to you so its OK that he gave my package to some one else or leave it @ my front door for anyone to take...gonna call Internal Affairs to complaint, not that they are going to do anything about it....just tired of this horrible post office...

The worse post office in the entire country. They supposedly delivered a package w no proof of signature. The postal worker at 10034, can not give me any information on my package and must wait til his lazy self and other rude 10034 to locate who delivered my package. It's been 4 days and still no word. The supervisor clearly told me to call the company and get it re shipped????? Why would they do that when it was not the company who delivered it to me????

As already stated: TRACK YOUR PACKAGE! When they do leave the notification that they missed you with a package (which they do maybe 20% of the time tops), they no longer redeliver even though the card says they will.... "You should have called the 800 number" is the response when you follow up on the signed card that said they'd bring the package back. Even when you have your documents and info, the package is often mislabled in the back or stacked in the wrong place. They'll leave you on the phone and forget about you.The staff are mostly hostile (there is usually 1 or 2 competent and friendly people doing the load of the work). Most are in no hurry to help anyone and will refuse to even try to look most of the time. I don't even know how many of my packages were lost or sent back, because some were surprises. My father's Christmas package to me this year got back to him chewed up 2 months later, after they didn't notify me that it was there and he didn't realize he needed to warn me. My tax check was stolen in the mail last year, but I still don't know whether it was Inwood's fault or not -- the investigators wouldn't tell me. One does wonder, though.
Ship via anyone but USPS to Inwood.

I've been going to this post office for more than 10 years. This post office is busy morning, noon and night, Monday through Saturday. They have a line system that doesn't make sense. Two separate lines, one for sending/receiving and the other for everything else. The sending/receiving line always has a long wait usually 30 minutes or more but the other line breezes right past with barely any wait. Both lines go to the same clerks so the two-line system line makes no sense. They don't leave those notes to let you know when you have a package waiting for you at the post office, then you check your tracking online and it says note has been left. I repeat, they do NOT leave notes. They don't go to your apartment if they need a signature. This post office is either completely unregulated by the government or incompetent. It's a government facility and the government needs to regulate this station.
