Postal Locations

The other day I went over to my post box to collect my mail (box down the street from my home). I found a package from my sister tossed on the side of the road under the box. I know this is not standard procedure as I googled protocol....packages are to be delivered to front doors. Now any passing car could have stolen my package. I am very angry about this and tried calling the postmaster to complain, but no one answered the phone (2x today). This is outrageous!!!!!!!!

Twice in during the past year I have spoken by phone with Lisa, a supervisor, at Southampton. She is intelligent, fast, efficient and very pleasant to speak with.

The post office in Southampton New York at 123 North Sea Rd. is the best post office I’ve ever been to. The Post office near my house in New York City they’ rushed, it’s busy and it’s like pulling teeth to get them to do anything. At this post office if you forget your key they will check your box for you. At one point I hadn’t realized I was receiving a package and didn’t check my box for two months. They actually called me from the post office to warn me that they would have to send the package back if I didn’t pick it up, then they agreed and told it for another week until I could get there . It was actually a really important package It would’ve gone back to China. I’ve never experienced service like that before in any business let alone US Postal Service... been off them and I’m really grateful. It’s now the only way I want to receive packages because I can be totally secure that I’ll get them. These guys (and gals, etc.) really care about their job.
