I have lived in Mt. Washington and used this post office for the past 12 years. Today I went in with a package to mail to my brother who is currently serving in Afghanistan. I asked for help filling out the customs form and was told I needed to have all that done before I got there. I would have done it on my own had I a.)had the form and b.)know what I was doing! When I asked if it would be cheaper to combine the two boxes into one or mail them separate, again I was told all that needed to be boxed up and ready to go before getting there. Yes, I did arrive 10 minutes before closing however, all I needed was the form, tape for the box, and to pay to ship. I have worked in retail and it is all about good customer service and we NEVER turned away a customer in the store even if it was closing time!!! I was VERY disappointed to say the least with the service I received there today and will NOT be returning to do business with them any longer. I will however be contacting a manager to speak to him or her about their employees inconsideration for customers.

As someone who has worked in the postal services in my time, this behavior by the customer is considered incredibly entitled and rude. International shipments are a lengthy and time consuming process, and for someone to come in 10 minutes before the facility closes, AND also not being prepared...isn't tolerated. Be prepared to do your transaction, or come in with enough time to be properly assisted. There is no reason to treat a postal worker or a postal location with disrespect only because you lack common sense or decency.
