Ya gotta love the $72k starting salary for post office jobs. I used to have respect for how hard they worked. Now limited hours and minimal customer service as an organization. There are some good and helpful folks but the QOS ain’t what it used to be.
I had a mail person delivery my package to the where I live. The office was not opened and he/she left it outside. I called the post office on Thursday and the lady was nice and helpful with my concern. I located my package after she put the request for an investigation. Thank you for your assistance.

I’m a resident on Towbridge circle, how do I get the postal workers to stop walking in my yard to deliver my mail. There is a paved driveway I would appreciate someone to inform your workers to stop walking and making a path in my grass. If I lived on the other side of Mopac I wouldn’t have this problem. I’m trying to get this resolved without any confrontation. Postal workers should have more respect you would think. Please advise me how to stop them without making a scene. Thank you in advance.
Regarding someone's comment about not wanting postal carriers to walk in their yard. It would be more effective if they could possibly ask them in person. Or if you could place/tape a note in legible/large letters on your mailbox to leave for future carriers to see so that when they exit your yard, they will not walk on your grass and maybe in the future they will remember this when they approach your home. It would be nice and more effective to get to know who their postal carrier by name and then the postal carrier can make a warning card for future postal workers on that route not to walk in a certain person's yard.
The card will have to be cased every single day just in case the regular carrier is not on the route due to illness or vacation or has bid to another route or station. Every carrier has a different technique despite it looking like it's the same thing they're doing everyday.
Very rarely is it expected of the carrier to not walk in the yard to the mailbox. It is because the carrier is only allowed so many seconds per house to deliver the mail and sometimes carriers can have anywhere from three hundred to over a thousand deliveries per route.
The pressure, diligence and responsibility put upon a City letter carrier is more than anyone could ever imagine.
When I had my own routes, and I had several different routes throughout the 30-year career, I would memorize the particulars of each customer. Only one time in 30 years did I get yelled at for walking in someone's yard. I was covering for someone on their route that day and I didn't know that the lady didn't want us to walk on her grass. I never had to carry that route again but I still remember the woman yelling at me. That was back in the 1990s in Fort worth.
Another time in Austin a gentleman sitting on his front porch asked me if I could walk around his yard in the future and I remembered that for future even though I was not the regular carrier on the route.
When being the regular carrier on a mail route, you will memorize every single person's last name, become familiar with their dogs and even what type of car they drive. A regular carrier usually knows when the people are home and if they are retired or if they are in the military. It becomes a very personal job and they say that your hairdresser knows for sure, the mail carrier knows even more about its customers and over 90% of the customers never even know what their mail carrier looks like or their name.
Also, simply place a sign in the yard to not walk on the grass. That would be most effective for any delivery driver or guest coming to your home.
Thank you for your concern and just know that when you see a carrier driving down the road, they're doing this job to support their family and the elements of the weather are always out there as a challenge.
The majority of indoor post office workers (not the mailman or woman) from my experience have got to be some of the laziest people around and have no personality whatsoever and don't even try getting them to answer the phone. It won't happen.
Very lazy and rude workers.

I'm sorry no one would answer your phone. That is very very frustrating. But I guarantee you these people are not lazy. The only answer I can give you here is usually there's only one supervisor around and they are helping other customers or out on the route checking on their carriers. Unfortunately the postal service doesn't have enough people in the actual office to take care of these situations. The job is very overwhelming. But I guarantee you the people here are not lazy. And I'm sorry about the rudeness left in the other person's comment. the people who work for the US postal service are actually very nice and good people and just trying to support their families, it's the people at the Top in the office's in Washington pushing pressure down on the people in the actual field.
There is a saying and it is true.... Try to walk a mile in their shoes.

U.S. Postal service has one of the most inept customer service when it comes to trying to get an issue handled by phone. I have called the Mockingbird Station, the Oak Hill Location, and today, the main office. In each instance an automated voice picks up the call, transfers it to the operator. At that point the phone rings about ten times, but a live person has yet to answer at any of the locations. What a mess. I just paid Uncle Sam a bunch of money for my taxes. I don't mind paying taxes, but when the takes are used to pay for this....very frustrating.
