I have tried to get a passport from this post office for sometime now. Everything online says they take walk-ins, NOT TRUE. You can have all the IDs and applications filled out and they will still insist you must have an appointment. I made one only to come in and be told that I wasn't on the list! I tried calling later to set up and appointment and can't get through! Either the automated system hangs up on you or no one answers! I experienced the same thing for the Madison Heights post office! Take walk ins or change your websites and automated messages, or make it so we can talk with a person to make the appointment! This goes for both locations.

We were out of town and had our mail held at the Odd Fellows Road post office in Lynchburg VA, to be picked up on our return. My husband went this morning and asked for our mail and all supervisors were on a conference call. The desk clerk called 3 times and no supervisor never called back. The clerk could not go to the back and retrieve the mail the supervisor must do it. After more than 10 minutes my husband was told that they might be longer. So he left. I have called the post office three times and no one answers the phone. I wanted to make sure there was a supervisor available so we can get our mail. We will now go back and hope that someone is there that can perform this job. Seems to be a very inefficient. If this is the policy, then there should be a supervisor available yo handle these requests. Sally Schneider
