I moved from my old residence April 1 and put in a change of address online two weeks prior. I still get informed delivery from my old address and I keep seeing my mail not being forwarded and it’s very very irritating and frustrating. When I contact the first view Street post office in Norfolk Virginia, they act like they’re doing what they’re supposed to do; however, They are not forwarding my mail properly. It has caused me to miss out on checks that were being mailed to me and very important mail. I tried to contact the post office about this and they just say that I will get the mail in Very has your new address on a yellow sticker at the bottom of the envelope. I am very frustrated very irritated and whoever is running the post office on first view Street in Norfolk needs to be fired. They have their head completely shoved up their butts
I'm assuming no one with postal or government authority reads these reviews. After reading all the complaints below, it appears there is no watchdog or there would have been some improvement over the years. Apparently there has not. I am not going to rant. No names, just facts here, pertaining to the management of this Ocean View branch only. Take it as you please. The main line rings busy most all day. When it does ring, no one answers. Response to customer service issues is practically non-existent and arrogant at best. Management is clueless as to their primary customer considerations. If this were a private sector business, they would be shut down or bankrupt. Of course that's not happening. You would think they would be more helpful or considerate of the people whose taxes pay their salaries, pensions, healthcare, vacations, sick leave, benefits... apparently not.
Disrespectful service. No text updates after I registered. Took off work to be home for the 1hour delivery window. Only to come home an hour prior to a "you have missed your package" letter. Well now my son misses is Christmas gift because I leave at 0400 in the morning. Unreachable at your office number. Unhelpful at the nation wide number. I am leaving a LOT of descriptive words out of this review. Please get your company under control.
My package is showing delivered (dropped on the front porch) through USPS tracking but no package. Nobody answers the published phone number for Ocean View post office.
The old man at the counter needs to be re-evaluated before someone kicks his a** !! he shows no respect and acts like knows it all and the customers are always wrong! he shows no respect to others, he is slow !! also no one ever answers the phone it’s ridiculous!!! seriously need to close this location down or re-evaluate everything!!! SERIOUSLY
The old man at the counter waste all customers time either socializing or looking for some reason to instruct every customer on how the post office works. He needs to respect the customers and just do what they need done. The line is always long because he waste so much time with each customer. Put him in the back of post office sorting mail, he is serious problem at the front counter
I dread the moment I have to go to this Post Office for anything. If its once a year...my heart sinks at the thought. They are extremely slow and way too talkative to the customers at the counter. Especially the older man that's been there like forever. He talks politics and whatever else comes to mind. Its the worse and never enough workers. Change your whole schedule if you have to go in the OV Post office for Anything.
Phone is busy all day long
Seems that this phone number isn't going to be answered from a employee at the Ocean View 23503 US Post office at 9631 1st View Norfolk Virginia
NO One Will Answer the phone ! ! ! 😡so Sad
They absolutely will NOT pick up the phone at this location!! I hate going on there because of the creep that works the counter. Lines out the door because he wants to move like a snail and talk down to people for taping a package wrong. You people need to get with it!!
I put in for a hold to my mail, and to have it delivered when I returned from a trip. On the date I had scheduled for it to be delivered, the postman said he "forgot it" and would bring it next week - well, Monday - no mail, Tuesday - no MAIL ! he doesn't deliver until 4:45 - so I can't go to the main office - when I tried to call all I got was a long beeeeeeeeping sound - nice customer service. My Grandfather worked for the post office and I have always had respect for what they do - but it seems around here they could care less about your mail.
